Salary: $30.00-$40.00/Hour Depending on Qualifications

DEFENSEWERX FLEETWERX is a neutral facilitator and trusted partner, connecting an international network of individuals, businesses, educators and government organizations to enable creative and integrated solutions for our partners.

This position is part-time and will be utilized on an as needed/on-call basis. Typical jobs will be given 3-5 days notice, with projects lasting 1-2 days.

JOB SUMMARY

Seeking a versatile and experienced Machinist to join the FLEETWERX team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both traditional and advanced manufacturing techniques. This includes proficiency with machine shop tools such as band saws, press brakes, and drill presses, as well as expertise in operating 3-axis and 5-axis subtractive manufacturing systems like mills and CNC lathes. Additionally, the candidate should be well-versed in polymer and metal additive manufacturing systems, including FormLabs, AMOS, Stratasys, Markforged, Haas/Meltio, Spee3D, AddiTech, and GE. A solid understanding of manufacturing software such as SolidWorks, Fusion, and Creo is essential. The role also requires strong re-engineering and modeling skills to support engineers and professors, along with the ability to rapidly prototype and re-engineer time-critical parts using 3D scanner technologies. The candidate must be available to travel to Monterey, CA, to operate Haas/Meltio systems and collaborate on various projects. Experience in programming and machining Haas systems is a plus. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Operate traditional machine shop ancillary tools such as band saws, press brakes, drill presses, etc.
• Operate subtractive (3-axis) manufacturing systems such as mills, lathes, and other manual systems
• Operate subtractive (5-axis) manufacturing systems CNC systems
• Operate polymer additive manufacturing systems including: FormLabs, AMOS, Stratasys, Markforged, etc.
• Operate metal additive manufacturing systems including: Haas/Meltio, Spee3D, AddiTech, and GE.
• Utilize subtractive manufacturing and additive manufacturing software: such as SolidWorks, Fusion, Creo
• Conduct Re-engineering and rapid prototyping of parts

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-5+ years of experience working with traditional machining tools and subtractive systems, 3+ years preferred
• 2-5+ years of experience working with metal additive manufacturing systems, 3+ years preferred
• 2-5+ years of experience working with polymer additive manufacturing systems, 3+ years preferred
• Trained on operating advanced additive machines
• 2-5+ years experience in Re-engineering using 3D scanning tools, 3+ years preferred
• An A-Plus certification from CAMufacturing Solutions Inc, and/or a Certified Solidworks Professional certificate is preferred, but not required.
  
• Available to work in-person in Monterey, CA as needed

OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a security clearance or successfully obtain and maintain ITAR license
• Ability to pass a background check
• Must not have any conflicts of interest affecting DWX or its partners
