Job Title: Aluminum Welder
Job Description

We are seeking an experienced aluminum welder who can effectively describe their experience and pass a weld test. The role involves welding and fabricating to specific instructions, both in and out of position, on various projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform aluminum welding and fabricating tasks according to specific instructions.
• Utilize MIG welding techniques, with a preference for pulse arc experience.
• Weld in multiple positions as required by the project.
• Read and interpret blueprints accurately for welding and fabrication tasks.
• Conduct fitting and grinding tasks as part of the welding process.

• Experience in aluminum welding.
• Proficiency in MIG welding and pulse arc techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Capability to pass fracture tested weld tests.

• Experience in fabricating and fitting processes.
• Familiarity with using tape measures and other measuring tools.
• Understanding of structure and grind tasks in welding.

This role offers the unique opportunity to work on the Maneuver Support Vessel (MSV) project, with guaranteed work for the next 10 years as 32 ships are constructed for the army. This provides a stable working environment not often available in the industry.

Work Environment

Work in a large-scale manufacturing setting focused on structural steel and aluminum parts for government projects, including bridges, dams, nuclear sites, boats, and barges. Employees are part of the Iron Workers Union and benefit from a comprehensive system that includes pension, 401K, vacation, health, and dental benefits. The shop is clean and requires steel-toed boots and safety glasses. Work predominantly involves aluminum.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
